The Role (Associate Principal Scientist)

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine in-vitro toxicology assays focused on Microelectrode Array (MEA)
- Plan, perform, and report in vitro Toxicology studies for discovery and development stage compounds
- Participate in experimental design; perform experiments and critically analyze, interpret, and report data to set next steps
- Complete high-impact and high-throughput studies in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects to meet timelines
- Establish new TOX assays and continuously improve current TOX assays
- Guide junior scientists
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation
- Provide laboratory support (ordering, equipment calibration and validation) and adhere to the Quality System
- Work with Project Managers to meet client requirements
- Perform quality review of peer data; assist with consolidating assay control and validation criteria

Qualifications:
- PhD in a scientific-relevant field with at least 3 years post-PhD experience in contract research organizations, pharmaceutical industries, or academia
- Equivalent education/experience may be accepted
- Industry/academic experience in cell biology and electrophysiology with a strong record of achievement
- Experience in drug discovery/development, especially MEA assays
- Expertise in electrophysiological assays with Microelectrode Array for cardiac and neuro assays (highly desired)
- Broad understanding of Toxicology, electrophysiology, and cell biology

Skills/Requirements:
- Teamwork; excellent oral and written communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail; ability to manage time and work independently
- Ability to train and mentor junior scientists

Benefits/Compensation:
- Base pay range: $93,500–$115,000 (salaried exempt)
