Role Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and part of the commercial team, the Associate Director, Marketing is responsible for leading the branded marketing team and directly managing upstream and downstream marketing activities for assigned compounded and FDA-approved products. You'll primarily focus on launching a new FDA-approved product, establishing a long-term product strategy, and developing and executing annual marketing campaigns across multiple products. This role will be instrumental in market assessment, attending various industry trade shows in the ophthalmic space, coordinating educational programs, and identifying cross-selling opportunities to fill the sales funnel. You'll cultivate partnerships with key opinion leaders in the ophthalmic industry to better understand market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor and develop a highly successful marketing team focused on our compounding and assigned FDA-approved portfolios.
  • Develop and execute go-to market strategies for responsible brands.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple departments to align and compliantly execute critical initiatives.
  • Provide proposals, input, and support on key messaging for the products.
  • Maintains up-to-date product and industry knowledge by regular review of the literature, co-traveling with field sales personnel, and attending local conferences.
  • Understand customer behavior and deliver relevant messaging through various marketing channels.
  • Lead project scope for qualitative and quantitative market data/research to continually gain a deeper understanding of the customer, brand, and market
  • Play a leadership role in all materials to ensure they are appropriately developed and submitted for regulatory approvals, including the OPDP submission, before dissemination.
  • Develop and manage marketing budget.
  • Partner and support the development of the public relations strategy by implementing, interpreting, and translating clinical data into commercial implications.
  • Utilize relevant data from existing CRM (Salesforce) to drive new marketing initiatives, track progress, and report results.
  • Evaluate ongoing campaigns and propose new ways to boost sales and new opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the clinical team on new product trials and gather valuable feedback.
  • Plan and participate in industry tradeshows.
  • Communicate frequently with field sales reps to understand how to build better tools
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Execute and manage KOL activities, including advisory boards, commercial presentations, conference activities, and KOL meetings.
  • Stay positive and solution-focuse,d and suggest product improvements and innovation.
  • Become an advocate for our customers and understand how we can better communicate and serve them.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience in marketing to the ophthalmic audience
  • Experience with ophthalmic buy & bill pharmaceuticals strongly preferred
  • Ability to analyze data and build a product forecast
  • Deliver compelling presentations in PowerPoint
  • Ability to create and deliver executive materials for decision-making
  • Demonstrated experience working with different departments
  • Attention to detail and well-organized
  • Ability to think creatively in confronting new issues and provide novel solutions
  • Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise sound business judgment with critical thinking skills and high ethical standards while being a team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write effective customer and field sales communications
  • Ability to multitask, adjusting priorities as needed
  • Proficiency in standard MS Office software products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Proficient with Salesforce, Pardot, Airtable, and Tableau, a plus
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
