Role Summary
Provide support for the safe work permitting process for the facility. Perform Permit Vision for work requests and process through the permit life cycle including review/approve/issue permits, review/approve/execute ICCs (LOTO), and review/approve Flush & Drain Plans.
Responsibilities
- Recognize the conditions of work that require Lockout/Tagout
- Assess all hazardous energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, and other sources in machines, equipment, and systems which can be hazardous to employees & other stakeholders onsite
- Use documented procedures and approved isolation devices to implement Lockout/Tagout
- Must adhere to key elements of OSHA regulations known onsite as the Ten Life Safety Rules
- Adhere to all Quality & Environmental regulations within area of responsibility
- Support identification of hazards and associated mitigation plans
- Maintain standards & operational procedures for the Central Permit Office (CPO)
- Work daily with computer programs to perform tasks (Microsoft office suite, CMMS (SAP), Permit Vision, Robex, etc.)
- Occasionally make decisions of minor importance, which may affect the work operations of employees & other key stakeholders to a moderate degree
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in engineering technology, maintenance, manufacturing or utilities required
- May consider an Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or relevant field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience preferred
- Knowledge & experience in the operations, &/or maintenance of utilities &/or manufacturing equipment preferred
- Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred
- Ability to read/review and understand P&ID, PFD, electrical schematics required
- Ability to use appropriate PPE, including PAPR required
- Willingness to join and actively participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) preferred
- Strong communication skills across multiple organizational levels preferred
- Understanding of Safe Work Practices required
- Experience identifying and isolating hazards (LOTO) preferred
- Willingness to join and actively participate as Health & Safety Representative (HSR) preferred
Education
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or relevant field of study preferred
Additional Requirements
- Move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds; stand for extended periods; work in loud environments with hearing protection; may require color vision or corrected vision dependent on role
- May be required to work at elevated heights, in confined spaces, or around hazardous materials
- May require a motorized vehicle license and ability to operate a motorized vehicle
