Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute translational disease strategy in Alzheimer’s/Neurological disease areas.
- Lead and oversee execution of disease strategy, including patient selection strategies.
- Serve as scientific expert generating novel hypotheses for targetable biology using novel discoveries and neuroscience expertise.
- Manage cross-functional disease project teams with interfaces across IT, bioinformatics, data science, statistics, external collaborators, contractors, and other leads.
- Maintain relationships with translational clinicians to identify opportunities and gain disease insight.
- Identify translational needs, gaps, and disease questions across BMS neuroscience portfolio assets.
- Lead collaborations with academia/industry to identify biobanks, clinical trials, and databases; collate multi-parameter genomic, immune, and clinical datasets to mine for novel biomarkers.
- Guide bioinformatics partners to deliver biomarkers and biological understanding from transcriptome/exome/genome, epigenetics, proteomics, immune profiles, and single-cell data.
- Develop translational analysis plans/timelines; communicate analysis results with internal stakeholders (regulatory, clinical, commercial) and collaborators.
- Represent Neurology Translational Medicine at internal meetings; provide domain knowledge.
- Direct and support publications in high-quality journals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- PhD in a neuroscience-related field.
- 8+ years post-PhD experience demonstrating scientific leadership in integrating/analyzing/interpreting multimodal biological data (academic/industry).
- Strong neuroscience background: Alzheimer’s, human genetics/genomics, molecular and cellular biology; immunology knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
- Strong cross-functional teamwork and communication.
- Clinical trials experience preferred.
- Track record of high-quality scientific publications.
