Associate Director, Tax
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740, including calculations, review, supporting documentation, tax account reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures.
- Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and foreign income and franchise tax returns, including estimates, extensions, and related filings.
- Manage and provide strategic direction for IRS and state income/franchise tax notices, audits, and information requests.
- Lead technical research on tax issues and provide guidance to the team.
- Direct the preparation of tax account forecasts and monthly accruals.
- Lead and direct significant tax projects from planning through execution, identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Develop and mentor members of the Tax team.
- Lead ad hoc/special projects (e.g., Section 382 study, credit study).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Highly organized with great attention to detail.
- Self-starter; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; flexible to geographic time zones.
- Strong prioritization skills; meet deadlines; recognize when to escalate issues.
- Strong written/verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables and vlookup).
- May require working outside normal hours.
Required Education/Licenses:
- 9β12 years of recent, progressive US corporate income tax experience (Big Four and/or multinational corporate tax department experience).
- Extensive ASC 740 experience (required).
- Bachelorβs in Accounting or Business (or equivalent education/experience).
- CPA (required). Masterβs in Taxation is a plus.
Benefits/Compensation (US candidates only, if stated):
- Base pay range: $160,000.00β$240,000.00
- Eligible for discretionary annual cash bonus/incentive (depending on role) and discretionary equity grants.
