About the Role
- Be accountable to deliver Takeda’s “Partner for Access” strategy for a geography covering 5–12 priority accounts and select non-priority accounts.
- Own all books of business: Commercial, Medicare, State Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid.
- Gain, protect, and improve profitable access to Takeda products.
- Deliver partnership aspiration to priority accounts.
- Engage payers on Takeda’s portfolio (small molecule, specialty, rare and orphan products).
- Serve as the “Face of Managed Markets,” main point of contact for market access topics across all Business Units.
- Work with local matrix colleagues to identify market access trends, opportunities/issues, and drive pull-through across the geography.
- Communicate access changes and local impact to maximize wins and mitigate losses.

How you will contribute
- Drive for results: secure/maintain formulary and medical policy access; build and execute strategic account plans; optimize payer opportunities; negotiate contracts to meet revenue/rebate objectives; build/present business cases; influence PBMs/downstream clients for favorable access.
- Establish/maintain customer relationships across departments and keep current on payer/PBM economics.
- Cross-functional engagement: partner with internal stakeholders (Market Access & Channel Strategy, Contracts & Pricing, Payer/Pricing Analytics, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Patient Services/Field Reimbursement, State Government Affairs, Public Policy); quarterback account interactions; collaborate with sales to drive access wins.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- BS/BA degree.
- 3+ years leadership (1st/2nd line) or payer account management experience.
- Broad portfolio experience across multiple therapeutic areas and regional PBMs/payers.

Preferred
- Experience in specialty/rare disease markets (e.g., sales, brand/payer marketing, field reimbursement, patient services, specialty pharmacy).
- In-depth understanding of commercial, Medicare, and PBM business and regional decision processes.
