Associate Director, R&D BI&T Portfolio Delivery Lead
Responsibilities
- Lead management and delivery of the R&D IT project portfolio, aligned to the prioritized Book of Work (BOW).
- Partner with IT leadership, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive portfolio success.
- Provide portfolio-level updates; translate technical information into business-relevant insights.
- Manage financials for investment projects and operational (run) support (budgeting, forecasting, tracking expenditures).
- Oversee project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure within scope, schedule, and budget; ensure regulatory compliance.
- Establish and monitor portfolio risks, issues, and dependencies; resolve and escalate as needed.
- Support consistent use of Agile/Waterfall/hybrid methodologies and define scope, budget, timeline, and success criteria.
- Coach project managers; manage OKRs to assess portfolio health and value realization.
- Track KPIs and provide regular status updates; drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelorβs degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience managing complex IT project portfolios in research/pharmaceutical environments.
- Financial management experience (budgeting/forecasting/tracking) for investment and operational support.
- 8+ years IT project management; 3+ years portfolio/program management (preferred in pharma/life sciences).
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance (e.g., GxP, FDA, GDPR).
- Agile delivery experience; scale Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) across teams/portfolios.
- Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management/Agile tools (e.g., Jira).
- PMP/PgMP/Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe Agilist) preferred.
