Operations
Will typically serve as the head of the laboratory operations for the plant. Responsible for management of the QC Laboratory organization, including Managers, Supervisors and Analysts. Manages a business unit consisting of API Laboratory Operations, Finished Goods Laboratory Operations, Raw Material/In-Process Laboratory Operations, Laboratory Support Operations, and Laboratory Continuous Improvement/Compliance Operations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Managers, Supervisors and Lab Analysts; hire, lead, develop, train and support performance.
- Assure conformance to all government and corporate regulations; routinely meet with regulators (FDA & EU) and customers.
- Meet production objectives within planned budgets; manage supplies and equipment within budgeted amounts.
- Establish and execute plans consistent with Development, Manufacturing, Customers and Business needs.
- Conceive, design, conduct advanced independent scientific research; ensure projects are on track.
- Develop, negotiate, finalize timelines and cost estimates for projects/service contracts.
- Provide timely testing of in-process, raw materials, intermediates, API, finished goods, continuous improvement, QA training, and equipment validation/stability.
- Apply advanced technical writing for project protocols and final reports to support registration and business needs.
- Interact/negotiates with external contacts and customers to develop positive business relationships.

Qualifications:
- Required: BS in Science or equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience OR MS with 8+ years; Preferred: PhD with 6+ years.
- High level technical skill in technical lab operations; strong understanding of related business.
- Knowledge of Product Quality, Quality Control Lab Operations, and Regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and make operational/business decisions with minimal direction.
- Ability to develop, design, execute and manage complex research programs.
- Knowledge/skill in personnel management and developing/managing budgets.
- Ability to interact with internal/external customers; broad understanding of technical/science and business issues.
