Operations
Purpose:
A project manager responsible for leading large global projects that contributes to significant financial success of the corporation. A key AbbVie project management leader.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures; ensures quality and effectiveness of key results through sound design, early risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
- Provide leadership and centralized management for planning, development, and execution of large, global projects/programs to achieve strategic business objectives; manage multiple concurrent projects; define scope with customer strategic needs and integrate technology and business needs.
- Lead project team using established PM tools/techniques to stay within authorized budget limits; develop project strategy aligned to key customer business objectives; contribute to long-term business/organizational strategies.
- Manage all phases of project execution; monitor aggregate performance/value indicators; coordinate/supervise project audits; lead global teams to develop/align procedures and standards.
- Identify strategic vendor alliances, assist with contract negotiation; evaluate vendor qualifications/reliability/performance and ensure adherence to plans/policies/procedures.
- Foster innovation; integrate experiences across projects/disciplines; develop standards maximizing customer ROI and minimizing ongoing support infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively across the organization; serve as spokesperson/advisor; set direction for improving project design/outcomes within corporate strategy.
- Lead task forces; provide mentoring; participate in evaluation of staff; may supervise engineers/technicians.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering/science (desired) or equivalent technical experience; 12+ years significant engineering and/or operational experience; post-graduate education desired.
- Demonstrated excellence in global project management.
- Strong collaboration with diverse internal/external partners; tactful communication in oral/written/presentations.
- Interpersonal skills to negotiate/reconcile differences.
- Technical background in healthcare, medical devices, biological, or pharmaceutical companies.
- Financial systems/fiscal control competency; project accounting; procurement and contracting processes knowledge.
- Formal Project Management training (preferred).
