About the Role
The Site Capital Lead serves as the site subject matter expert for capital portfolio management and project delivery. Leads capital program and project activities within Site Engineering to ensure the Covington manufacturing facility has the right governance, planning, and delivery structure to support reliable and compliant operations.
How you will contribute
- Lead long-range planning for the site capital portfolio, including MRP and MYC processes, aligned with OpU/Regional Capital leadership.
- Deliver annual site capital program budget/spend; ensure accurate forecasting, cash-flow visibility, and timely updates in SPOT.
- Identify, define, challenge, and prioritize current and future capital needs (value, compliance, continuity, effectiveness, profitability).
- Establish capital project program and governance mechanisms.
- Lead early-stage planning (feasibility and concept work) and develop robust business charters.
- Create execution structures for GMP and non-GMP capital projects based on size/complexity/criticality.
- Deploy project delivery best practices (front-end loading, stage-gate reviews, value improvement, risk mitigation).
- Coordinate planning, monitoring, reporting, escalation; manage risk registers, mitigation plans, communications, and stakeholder updates.
- Prepare/review capital appropriation requests for approval.
- Ensure project managers are trained on GOPs, job aids, cost estimation, SPOT, and project tools/processes.
- Develop and coach the capital projects team; build long-term delivery capability.
- Manage portfolio resource loading and provide stakeholder visibility.
- Participate in Communities of Practice; represent Engineering Capital Projects during audits.
- Adhere to applicable EHS requirements and Code of Conduct; perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring to Takeda
Required qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 10+ years engineering experience, including significant capital project delivery exposure.
- Experience delivering manufacturing/pharmaceutical capital projects, including GMP-related work.
- Proven leadership of engineers, project managers, and cross-functional end users.
- Thorough knowledge of capital delivery models, portfolio governance, cost estimation, business case development, and execution best practices.
- Strong business acumen; ability to manage up/across a matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication, influencing, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make timely decisions balancing risk, compliance, cost, schedule, and business impact.

- Experience applying innovative project delivery methods.
- Ability to translate innovation into practical execution/design approaches.
- Self-motivated; strong interpersonal skills; able to solve complex problems.
- Experience in highly matrixed, global, site-based manufacturing organizations.
