Summary of Position

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Associate Director/Principal Data Scientist of Data Visualization to join our growing team in a dynamic biotech company. Reporting directly to the Head of Statistical Programming, you will lead the creation and implementation of applications and visualizations for clinical trial data, driving effective decision-making and presenting insights clearly for stakeholders. Your expertise will be critical in supporting clinical trial conduct, and translating clinical trial data into impactful, easy-to-understand visual formats that support our strategic goals.

Role Overview

As a Director of Data Visualization, you will collaborate closely with multiple functions in drug development to ensure high-quality visualizations that deliver meaningful insights throughout the clinical trial process.

Candidate Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of the data visualization strategy for clinical trial data, ensuring effective visualizations.
• Develop and maintain advanced data visualizations using industry-leading tools such as R Shiny, Tableau, Python, and other relevant platforms.
• Ensure all data visualizations are accurate, consistent, and aligned with clinical and regulatory standards, enhancing accessibility and clarity of clinical trial data.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data visualization techniques, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
• Work closely with other functional teams to integrate visualizations into clinical trial conduct, data monitoring, and data analyses.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in data visualization, with a strong focus on clinical or biomedical data.
• At least 2-3 years of leadership experience managing a team. (Only applicable to associate director)
• Solid experience working with clinical trial data, statistical programming, and understanding of regulatory submission requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA, ICH).
• Expertise in data visualization tools such as R/R Shiny, Tableau, Python, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial data structures (e.g., SDTM, ADaM) and clinical trial design.
• Ability to translate complex statistical and clinical data into clear, accessible visual formats.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in clinical trial data visualizations.
• Familiarity with regulatory data standards (e.g., CDISC), clinical trial reporting guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Previous experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or clinical research environment.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus on data visualization strategies and approaches.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning and improvement in data visualization techniques.
