Associate Director of Data Product Strategy for Foundational Therapies
Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance data environments supporting Foundational Therapies Analytics, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Stay current on data analytics trends; create roadmaps for new data sources and capabilities.
- Partner with Technology, Market Access, and Commercial Operations on technical, systems, reporting, and data initiatives.
- Drive improvements in processes, storage, and use of systems and data; implement data quality initiatives.
- Serve as primary point of contact for Foundational Therapies franchises to coordinate data product development with partners in DD&T, FPO, MCE, I&A, and PAMA.
- Manage requirements, specifications, and design of data product environments for analytics and reporting; triage issues/enhancements.
- Lead ongoing performance review and continuous improvement for internal/external development and operating services.
- Lead prioritization and requirements gathering for upstream/downstream system changes impacting data products.
- Partner with FPO and DD&T to ensure warehouse/reporting platform changes align with business needs, including data model changes.
- Partner with DD&T to ensure reporting/data platform technologies are supported and maintained.
- Work with I&A managers to identify and negotiate resource needs.
- Capture therapeutic area/franchise-specific business rules incorporated into published data products.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree required (preferably Statistics, Business, or Information Systems).
- 10+ years in Operations/IT with data analysis, metadata management, and data quality (preferably pharma).
- 10+ years in data strategy (data architecture, governance, data modeling, ETL, enterprise data warehouse, analytics).
- 6+ years managing in a matrix environment (preferred).
- Proven experience with Sales and Marketing in a pharmaceutical context.
- Prior pharma data source experience (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo, Market Access, Patient Services, Specialty Pharmacy).
- Data development lifecycle experience (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, change management).
- SQL and SAS knowledge (preferred); Python/pySpark/Spark beneficial.
- Experience working in production data environments and responding to escalations.
- BI tools experience (Tableau or PowerBI) (preferred).
- Cloud platform experience required; AWS strongly preferred.
- 1+ year cloud data platform experience (e.g., Databricks) required.
- Masterโs degree preferred.
Knowledge:
- Conceptual understanding of data warehousing and services (ingestion, curation, self-service, automation).
- Data governance concepts/tools including Master Data Management.
- Fluency with AI/GenAI techniques and applicability to commercial pharma.
- Ability to guide teams using multiple project management modes including Agile.
Skills:
- Proven project management; lead large business change programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint (advanced Excel preferred).
- Experience supporting large-scale system implementations.
