Role: Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison, focusing on establishing and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to support FMI’s scientific and medical goals in cancer genomics. Responsibilities include scientific outreach and education in oncology, pathology, and hematology; representing FMI at scientific forums; developing educational materials; facilitating clinical trial initiatives; and gathering market intelligence. The role also involves coordinating with Medical Affairs for advisory boards, publications, and research activities, along with responding to complex scientific inquiries and identifying investigator-initiated studies. The position requires significant territory travel (70%+), with some travel outside the region (up to 5%). Qualifications: Master’s degree in health sciences, nursing, genetics, or related fields with ≥7 years as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in biotech, pharma, or diagnostics, or PhD/DNP/PharmD with ≥4 years in similar roles. Oncology expertise, with preferred advanced degrees and extensive KOL relationships. High-value specifics include focus on cancer genomics, biomarker/therapeutic development, molecular testing, and clinical utility in oncology. Experience in market analysis, territory management, and familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., CLIA, Sunshine Act) are also valued. The role is based predominantly in Morrisville, NC, requiring frequent travel, and offers a salary range of $192K-$236K plus benefits.
