Role Summary
Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Dermatology, responsible for providing scientific expertise, strategic engagement with healthcare professionals, and territory management in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. This field-based role requires delivering unbiased, up-to-date medical and scientific information, synthesizing insights for Lilly medical and cross-functional teams, and supporting research collaborations within the dermatology therapeutic area.
Responsibilities
- Scientific knowledge: maintain high-level expertise in the dermatology therapeutic area and respond to medical information requests with unbiased, accurate data.
- Customer engagement: serve as a primary interface between Lilly medical and SEs/CEs to deliver a positive customer experience and connect colleagues with internal resources as appropriate.
- Territory ownership: develop and execute a strategic territory plan, use analytics for customer identification and routing, and collaborate across Lilly field roles to coordinate the customer experience.
- Strategic vision and leadership: synthesize and communicate actionable insights to internal teams, exercise good judgment, and collaborate across functions while embracing change and innovation.
- Compliance and teamwork: embody Team Lilly Behaviors, contribute to team goals, and operate in a compliant manner respecting all guidelines and laws.
Qualifications
- Required: Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2–3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience; or a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in health sciences with 5+ years of relevant experience. Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship provided).
- Preferred: Dermatology therapeutic area experience; ability to travel up to 80% and occasional weekends; proximity to a transport hub.
