Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison - Cardiometabolic Health-Knoxville/Lexington

Purpose
- Provide leading scientific and clinical knowledge to researchers and practitioners by synthesizing the latest research on products, disease states, and standards of care.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and clinical information to address clinical care gaps and clarify nuanced clinical/research questions for specific indications and therapeutic areas.
- Serve as a primary interface between Lilly Medical and Scientific/Clinical Experts (SEs/CEs) to deliver a positive experience and support HCP engagement.
- Connect SEs/CEs with appropriate Lilly resources/internal partners and facilitate collaborative research opportunities.
- Partner with clinical development to support studies and investigators by delivering disease-state and other scientific information aligned with site identification/selection/recruitment.
- Analyze customer data and implement a strategic territory plan; prioritize core MSL activities and use territory analytics for customer identification/routing.
- Synthesize and communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal and cross-functional teams; use judgment and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Collaborate with peers/colleagues, contribute to team goals, and execute the role compliantly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2–3 years of clinically relevant experience; OR
- Master’s/bachelor’s level health sciences degree (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis (Lilly does not sponsor work authorization/visas).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Advanced presentation and computer skills; literature identification expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; self-directed field work; strong teamwork/interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Resiliency, intellectual curiosity, and learning agility for complex scientific content.
- Ability to leverage field-based tools and digital platform enablers for virtual HCP engagement.
- Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking.
- Living within the geography near a transport hub.
- Travel up to 80% and weekend commitments.
- Strongly preferred: cardiometabolic health experience (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity); field-based experience; familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education.
