Role Summary
The Associate Director, Medical Impact will develop the standards, processes, and framework for measuring end-to-end medical impact and care gaps, and create tools for synthesizing insights across Medical Affairs and Health Impact (MHI). The role acts as a translator between BU Therapeutic Areas and the Medical Engagement team to identify capabilities that will contribute to the long-term success of MA + HEOR and ensure these capabilities are utilized effectively. Strong data analytics and communication skills are essential. This position is on-site at the Mettawa, IL campus with a hybrid model of 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BU TAs and International TAs, to understand their needs and requirements to develop impact and insights capabilities that contribute to the long-term success of the MA + HEOR organization.
- Serve as a translator between BU TAs, International TAs, and the Medical Engagement team to ensure effective communication and understanding of capabilities.
- Implement standardized processes and frameworks for measuring end-to-end medical impact across Medical Affairs and HEOR.
- Transform the approach to impact tracking from static, manual report generation to a real-time, dashboard-based approach.
- Scale Medical Engagement Blueprint across TAs.
- Partner with HEOR to operationalize care gap analytics across TAs.
- Create tools and methodologies for synthesizing insights from various sources, including field feedback, to provide actionable recommendations for the MA + HEOR organization.
- Identify key sources of insight for MA + HEOR, including existing and novel datasets, and develop an approach to analysis.
- Keep a pulse on capabilities rollouts and identify changes to future waves.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to medical impact measurement and insights synthesis.
- Prepare reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the standards, processes, and framework for measuring medical impact and synthesizing insights, ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of the MA + HEOR organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred.
- At least 6+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent with a Bachelor's or 4+ years experience with a Master's and 2+ years with a PhD.
- Strong experience with real-world data and current methods of data analysis and machine learning.
- 3-4 years of experience in Medical Affairs highly preferred.
- Demonstrate creative โout of the boxโ thinking to solve difficult unstructured problems.
- Strong decision making under uncertainty.
- Stakeholder management and leadership skills in matrix organization.
- Strong analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
- Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical business.
- Ability to effectively present ideas and document complex medical/clinical concepts and processes in both written and oral communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
