Associate Director, Manufacturing Division Communications ( Southern Cluster)

Role: Associate Director, Global Manufacturing Communications, supporting internal and external site and product communications across Durham, Wilson, and Elkton manufacturing sites, totaling ~2,500 employees. Objectives: develop integrated strategies to connect manufacturing operations, supply chain, and reputation, ensuring clear messaging on performance, milestones, and operational risks. Responsibilities: craft site-level communication plans, manage media and executive messaging, support change management initiatives, and handle crisis communications; collaborate with leadership, policy, and PR teams; oversee communication materials through review processes; manage budgets and stakeholder relationships; and mitigate organizational risks through effective messaging. Requirements: Bachelor's in communications, life sciences, or related field with 6+ years relevant experience; ideally with healthcare/pharma industry experience and familiarity with manufacturing environments. Proven expertise in internal/external communications, crisis management, change management, and stakeholder engagement. Strong project management, executive presence, and social/digital proficiency essential. Preferred: experience supporting R&D or complex operations, working with senior executives, and managing budgets and agencies. High-value specifics include focus on biopharmaceutical manufacturing, operational milestones, supply chain issues, and site-level reputation management. Work setup: hybrid (onsite 2-3 days/week) with up to 25% travel to sites in North Carolina and Virginia.
