Role Overview
- Associate Director of US Leadership Development supporting business teams and US commercial leadership to assess needs and drive leadership development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform needs assessments; anticipate/analyze business needs; identify talent gaps.
- Ensure learning solutions align with business goals; engage partners to design and deliver training.
- Design, customize, and improve learning programming; collaborate with vendors.
- Lead curriculum/learning design and implement commercial enterprise programs (onboarding/transition support, executive coaching, assessments, leader skill building, talent development for US leadership roles).
- Develop learning solutions for skill/career/personal development; ensure effective/efficient execution.
- Accountable for flawless in-person and virtual learning events (journey design, facilitation, materials, logistics).
- Source/select/evaluate external faculty and executive coaches.
- Identify and report long-term talent impact metrics; measure value and behavior change.
- Manage participant experience (feedback scores/analysis); coach internal leaders as sponsors/speakers.
- Execute annual strategic plan; negotiate with approved vendors, secure POs, reconcile training accounting.
- Support development and growth of leaders; coordinate training activities across US (marketing excellence, leadership development, Integrated Brand Teams, sales leadership, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 5+ years managerial experience; travel up to 25%.

- Executive communication/presence; deliver high-impact presentations; provide constructive feedback.
- Inclusive collaboration; strong interpersonal and stakeholder management; navigate ambiguity.
- Experience leading teams (preferably sales/marketing leadership) to design/implement training programs.
- Demonstrated coaching/situational leadership; ability to inspire and motivate.
- Deep leadership development expertise; adult learning knowledge; ability to assess training effects.
- Executive coaching certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Business acumen and understanding of AbbVie regulatory limitations.
- Organization; ability to adjust plans; fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of virtual/digital learning tools.
