Role Summary

The Associate Director, IBU Consumer Media strengthens Lilly’s media capabilities across international markets as the regional expert for paid media. They translate global strategy into local execution, ensure agency accountability, and collaborate with global leadership, affiliates, and the media agency to drive compliant, effective media activation, staffing quality, and innovative, data-driven approaches that improve Lilly’s global presence.

Responsibilities

  • Paid Media Strategy & Governance: act as regional SME for Paid Media; adapt global strategy to regional execution reflecting market maturity, regulatory nuance, and business priorities.
  • Agency Accountability: oversee hubs and affiliates, aligning global strategy with local activation and performance.
  • Regional Readiness: guide audience strategy, channel mix, and investment approaches; lead local media plan negotiations and pricing efficiencies.
  • Integrated Collaboration & Innovation: drive operational excellence and cross-hub knowledge sharing; partner with Creative, Analytics, and Digital teams for connected planning and measurement.
  • Performance Intelligence & Measurement: work with BI&A to set standards; ensure timely in-campaign optimization, in-flight reporting, and post-campaign analysis to enable data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • Required: 7+ years of experience in media and marketing, specifically media agency and/or client side.
  • Required: Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • Preferred: Proven experience managing or supporting global or multi-market media agency partnerships.
  • Preferred: Ability to work across matrixed global organizations and influence without authority.
  • Preferred: Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Preferred: Deep understanding of modern paid media workflows and platforms (programmatic, streaming/CTV, social, retail media).
  • Preferred: Experience with data-driven marketing, measurement frameworks, and linking investment to business outcomes.
  • Preferred: Strong relationship management and agency leadership experience; excellent collaboration and communication across cultures.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting multiple countries with varying media landscapes and regulations.
  • Preferred: Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations; comfort navigating change and ambiguity.
