Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations cases (performance issues, policy violations, workplace conflicts); conduct thorough investigations and recommend appropriate outcomes
- Coach and advise managers on performance management, corrective action, and employee communication
- Partner with site leadership to address employee concerns while balancing operational needs, consistency, and risk mitigation
- Coach and influence front-line and mid-level leaders on performance management, corrective action, and employee communication
- Enable managers to address performance issues proactively to improve workforce capability and reduce escalation
- Advise SLC leaders on people and organizational needs to support workforce planning, team effectiveness, and employee engagement
- Partner with Talent Acquisition for hiring needs (workforce planning input, interview participation, candidate assessment, job description refinement)
- Support onboarding and orientation to accelerate employee integration
- Provide input into learning and development opportunities based on capability gaps and employee relations trends
- Manage contingent labor processes (vendor coordination, contract administration, onboarding/offboarding) ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements
- Use HR systems and data to maintain accurate records, support audits, and identify trends for continuous improvement
Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelorโs degree with 12+ years progressive HR experience including employee relations in manufacturing/operational environment (or Masterโs degree with 10+ years)
- Biotech/life sciences manufacturing experience highly preferred
- HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Expertise in investigations, performance management, conflict resolution
- Experience managing high-volume, complex casework; strong documentation/detail orientation
- Strong coaching skills; ability to influence front-line and mid-level leaders
- Solid knowledge of employment law and HR policies; practical application
- Ability to assess risk and make sound, timely decisions in ambiguous situations
