Role Summary
The Associate Director, HCP Marketing leads promotional strategy and material development for the HCP Marketing team within Vertexβs U.S. Commercial Pain Business Unit, reporting to the Senior Director, HCP Marketing. This role supports the JOURNAVX launch by identifying opportunities with office-based HCPs, adapting materials, and enabling the Customer engagement team to drive demand.
Responsibilities
- Work with Market Insights to assess practice and educational differences for the target HCP group and translate them into the promotional strategy
- Identify and develop or adapt materials for promotion with HCPs and create other promotional initiatives, including emerging digital media and technology assets
- Manage agency focus and internal processes to achieve work targets on time and within budget
- Partner with other HCP marketing leaders to maximize promotional mix and realize synergies across the team
- Support launch including information and training needs of the newly formed Field sales team
- Maintain close working relationships with Field leaders to evolve and respond to needs
- Work with Market Insights and analytics partners to plan and measure promotion effectiveness and identify gaps among target customers
- Other related duties as needed

- Agency management and marketing material development, implementation and assessment (minimum 2 years)
- Direct experience with communications review committee (CRC) for tactic reviews and compliance
- Experience assessing the impact of promotional investments
- Ability to collaborate across large teams to influence and support outcomes
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including comfort with field discussions
- Agility in thought and action to thrive in a fast-paced, brand-launch environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or scientific field; combination of scientific and business/marketing degrees preferred
- Minimum of 6 years in pharmaceutical marketing or closely related fields (e.g., pharmaceutical sales, ad agency)
- Field experience (training, promotional initiatives and planning) and HCP direct interfaces (Congress, advisory/consulting, market research)
- Strong budget and program management experience
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
