Role Summary

The Associate Director, Global Offices & Workplace Experience will assist in strategic planning and operational execution for global workplace environments. This role is responsible for assisting with office and facility operations, workplace strategy, capital projects, and environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking approach to workplace experience, integrating culture, technology, and sustainability into physical spaces while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing global workplace strategies aligned with company growth, culture, and operational needs.
  • Assist with space planning, office expansions, relocations, and decommissions across domestic and international sites.
  • Assist with vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service delivery for facilities operations.
  • Serve as lead project manager for major renovations, new builds, and office/lab decommissions.
  • In partnership with Senior Leadership, collaborate with brokers, landlords, architects, and contractors to define and deliver project requirements
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with brand and workplace standards.
  • Oversee EH&S programs, including ergonomics, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with the maintenance of and evolution of company-wide safety protocols, including IIPP and pandemic-related procedures.
  • Partner with HR on Workers Compensation and Return-to-Work strategies.
  • Champion initiatives that reflect company culture and brand in physical spaces.
  • Drive innovation in workplace systems, digital tools, and automation.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery and employee experience across all office locations.
  • Manage and mentor global office manager roles.
  • Assist with developing and managing the operating and capital budgets with a focus on cost efficiency and value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in facilities, EH&S, and workplace operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), office equipment, and workplace technologies.
  • Skilled in vendor management, contract negotiation, and project delivery.
  • Proficient in MS Office and workplace management tools.
  • US DOT Hazmat training preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15–20 pounds and perform standard office and site inspection duties.

Additional Requirements

  • This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.
