Associate Director, Field Sales Capabilities Employee Experience - West

The Associate Director, Field Sales Capabilities is a strategic performance and leadership development partner to an assigned Area Commercial Lead (ACL) and leadership team, enabling sustained behavior, change, and performance through performance consulting, leadership development, instructional design, and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen Sales and Employee Experience alignment through the P&O operating model.
- Design, implement, and sustain leadership-focused learning/enablement for onboarding, launches, expansions, and transitions.
- Translate enterprise/commercial strategy into field-ready leadership capability standards (βwhat good looks likeβ).
- Ensure initiatives align to short-term execution priorities and long-term strategic objectives for scalable, consistent behavior change.
- Oversee leadership workshops for development and evaluation of leadership competencies.
- Use performance consulting to identify capability gaps, diagnose root causes, and design targeted solutions for measurable behavior and performance improvement.
- Design scalable learning journeys that improve coaching, decision-making, and accountability.
- Lead/craft curricula as a Center of Expertise for individual contributor, first-line, and second-line leaders; evolve and sustain Emerging Leader and second-line programs aligned to Leading Self/People/Business.
- Monitor effectiveness using behavior-based measurement and report impact with leading/lagging indicators.
- Design technology-enabled leadership solutions and ensure capability sustainability in daily routines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
- 12+ years in pharmaceutical sales, management, and/or sales training.
- 10+ years building organizational capabilities (leadership development, curriculum design, behavioral capability building).
- Proven experience leading sales management and leadership development for first- and second-line leaders (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and modern L&D trends.
- Strategic/business acumen: root-cause analysis and scalable solution design.
- Executive presence; strong cross-functional leadership, communication, negotiation; trusted advisor mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives, adapt to changing priorities, and manage external vendors.
- 50β75% overnight travel; location anywhere in the US, ideally within the territory.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Base compensation range: $152,700 to $267,300; eligible for a company bonus.
- Eligible for long-term incentive compensation and/or company vehicles (level-dependent).
