Position Summary
- Epidemiology Strategy Associate Director (individual contributor) responsible for ensuring accurate understanding of disease/drug epidemiology, scientifically valid contextualization of expected/reported adverse events, and appropriate support for regulatory activities to obtain/maintain approvals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Execute pharmacoepidemiology group vision/operational model and deliver high-quality activities.
- Communicate value to Safety Management Teams (SMTs).
- Conduct epidemiologic analyses and interpret results for SMTs and product development teams.
- Create epidemiology strategy (under supervision of a senior epidemiologist) to support drug development, regulatory filings, and approval maintenance in one or more therapeutic areas.
- Collaborate with product scientists and matrix partners to ensure correct/efficient strategy execution.
- Develop innovative, valid pharmacoepidemiologic solutions to methodological challenges using real-world data.
- Support SMT safety signal and benefit-risk evaluations with regulatory-aware epi strategies.
- Support continuous improvement in pharmacoepidemiology practice to aid providers, regulatory requests, and patient health.
- Assure compliance with good pharmacoepidemiology and BMS/regulatory/legal requirements.
- May represent BMS Epidemiology externally.
Qualifications
- Masterβs level, Ph.D., or equivalent in relevant discipline (e.g., epidemiology, outcomes/health economics/services research).
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience; at least 1 year in pharmaceutical industry or CRO.
- At least 2 years hands-on real-world-data epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology/outcomes/health economics/HTA experience.
Travel
- Business travel for key congresses and internal/external engagements.
