Position Summary:
WWPS Epidemiology Associate Director, Epidemiology Strategy is a scientific and strategic individual contributor responsible for ensuring accurate epidemiology understanding, scientifically valid approaches to contextualizing adverse events, and appropriate support for regulatory activities to obtain and maintain approvals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Execute pharmacoepidemiology group vision/operating model and deliver high-quality pharmacoepidemiology activities.
- Communicate scientific/strategic value to Safety Management Teams (SMTs).
- Conduct epidemiologic analyses and interpret results for SMTs and product development teams.
- Create epidemiology strategy (under supervision of a senior epidemiologist) supporting drug development, regulatory filings, and maintenance of approvals in one or more therapeutic areas.
- Ensure epidemiology strategy is executed correctly/efficiently with matrix partners.
- Develop innovative, valid pharmacoepidemiologic solutions to methodological challenges using real-world data.
- Support SMT safety signal and benefit-risk evaluations with scientifically rigorous strategies, considering regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in pharmacoepidemiology to support providers, regulatory requests, and patient health.
- Assure compliance with good pharmacoepidemiology, BMS business practices, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- May represent BMS Epidemiology externally.
Qualifications:
- Master’s level, Ph.D., or equivalent in epidemiology/health/outcomes/health economics (or similar; especially with clinical/biological degree).
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience; at least 1 year in pharma industry or CRO.
- At least 2 years hands-on work in epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology/outcomes/health economics/health services/HTA using real-world data.
Travel:
- Business travel for key congresses and internal/external engagements.
