Role: Associate Director/Director of Accounting (Controller) for a biotech firm supporting immuno-oncology therapies, overseeing financial reporting and compliance. Responsibilities: lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; manage accounting for R&D expenses, clinical trial costs, manufacturing, licensing, collaborations, and complex financial instruments; ensure SEC reporting compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX controls, and internal policies; coordinate external audits and manage tax and treasury functions; develop and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies. Requirements: Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, CPA, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public company SEC reporting; prior senior accounting roles, preferably in biotech or life sciences; strong technical skills in U.S. GAAP, SEC, SOX, and complex transactions; experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and financial reporting tools. Preferred: industry-specific experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals, especially clinical-stage companies; familiarity with collaboration agreements, licensing, royalties, and capital markets transactions; experience supporting external audits and preparing board materials. Work setup: onsite in Lexington, with responsibilities centered on financial operations for a growing public biotech company.
