Role Summary

The Associate Director of Digital Marketing Operations leads operational excellence for digital initiatives within the Digital Strategy & Operations team, driving efficient, compliant delivery of programs across channels (marketing automation, websites, paid media, analytics). This role supports the HIV Prevention Business Unit, translating business objectives into impactful digital campaigns and experiences while promoting innovation and agility. The position requires a strategic, data-driven approach with an omnichannel mindset and collaboration with brand leads, capability leads, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic digital operations partner to HIV Prevention brand leads, translating business requirements into multi-channel digital campaigns, experiences, and solutions (SFMC, Web, Paid Media, Analytics, Content Production).
  • Oversee end-to-end campaign or project delivery—from requirements gathering to execution—on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to optimize ROI.
  • Work with digital project managers to maintain detailed project plans, track milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and global digital standards across all initiatives.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies in partnership with the Digital Marketing Operations team.
  • Drive digital innovation by promoting emerging technologies, capabilities and fostering agility within the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with Marketing, Operations, Technology and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on digital marketing operations best practices, processes, and systems, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends and identify opportunities to enhance capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Digital Strategy and Customer Experience teams on SOP development, rollout, and training.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years' Experience
  • Required: Masters' Degree and Eight Years' Experience
  • Required: Ph.D. and Two Years' Experience
  • Preferred: Proven experience in digital marketing with strong understanding of digital channels and technologies (Marketing Automation, Web, Paid Media, Social SEO/SEM).
  • Preferred: Track record of success in client-facing roles, with ability to build trust and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Preferred: Exceptional presentation skills and ability to deliver clear narratives.
  • Preferred: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Preferred: Strategic thinking with problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Preferred: Strong project management expertise, including risk and client management within the U.S. market; PMP certification preferred.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience in regulated industries (pharmaceuticals or healthcare) with knowledge of FDA guidelines and U.S. data privacy regulations.
  • Preferred: Ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences and manage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Preferred: Experience driving digital transformation and managing change initiatives; strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Preferred: Proactive, results-driven mindset with a track record of continuous improvement initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus (preferred).
  • PMP certification (preferred).
