Operations
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional project teams developing delivery device and combination product technologies for clinical introduction, commercialization, and post-marketing support.
- Lead, as needed, development of unique drug delivery technologies.
- Partner with CMC, asset, Quality, Regulatory, External Operations and other functions.
- Lead external device vendor engagement and provide strategic oversight of externally developed device technologies.
- As a device team leader, drive design, development, verification, validation, and transfer of combination products and medical devices.
- Lead product/process improvements for on-market products.
- Work with contract manufacturers to ensure quality and timely delivery of deliverables.
- Report to senior management on status, risks, and opportunities.
- Mentor engineers and scientists; learn and share knowledge via internal/external scientific presentations.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years developing and commercializing parenteral combination products and medical devices.
- Manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Hands-on parenteral drug delivery experience with devices (e.g., pre-filled syringe, autoinjector, large volume delivery).
- Deep expertise in design controls.
- Experience with contract manufacturers.
- Exposure to human factors engineering.
- Work with regulatory agencies; ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Strong communication skills; ability to influence across levels and functions.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in large/mid-sized pharma or biotech on parenteral combination products.
- Led device teams and commercialized prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, and/or pen devices.
- Worked with primary container technologies (prefilled syringes, cartridges, vials).
- Experience with lyophilized product-related drug delivery.
Education:
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering, life sciences, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Work Location/Travel:
- Hybrid; 3 days/week in Novato. Travel up to 10% domestic/international.
