Position Summary
- Senior scientific and technical leader driving data science strategy and execution to advance global drug development.
- Provide scientific leadership across clinical trial and omics/biomarker modalities (genomics, proteomics, imaging, flow cytometry, etc.) from early to late phase; may manage a small team.
What You’ll Do
Data Science Strategy & Leadership
- Guide analytical strategy and methodological standards across drug development programs.
- Lead exploratory/confirmatory analyses and drive innovative statistical/AI/ML methods to answer key scientific questions.
- Influence trial decisions (trial design, endpoints, biomarkers, evidence generation) via cross-functional input.
Advanced Analytics & Modeling
- Build computational methods for patient segmentation, biomarker discovery, and precision medicine.
- Develop/validate predictive models and scalable automated pipelines.
- Apply rigorous stats (survival, longitudinal/mixed-effects, causal inference; missing data/censoring handling) and AI/ML (incl. deep learning, NLP, causal ML, explainable AI).
Data Engineering & Reproducibility
- Define reproducible, well-documented pipelines (Python, R, SQL, cloud); enforce data quality.
- Ensure robust model evaluation and transparent reporting.
Key Requirements
- Ph.D. in a quantitative field + 6+ years; or Master’s + 8+ years.
- Strong statistical/data science mastery in clinical trials/EHR; significant high-dimensional ML for time-to-event/longitudinal/multivariate outcomes.
- Proficient in Python, R, SQL, and cloud (e.g., AWS/Azure/Databricks); deep familiarity with clinical trial/drug development and biomarkers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Genomics/proteomics/imaging/flow/immunobiology; NLP; survival analysis; causal ML/explainable AI; real-world data; digital health/wearables; novel trial designs; people management (plus).
Benefits (high level)
- Medical, dental, vision; wellbeing support; 401(k); disability and life insurance; paid time off (varies by role/location).
