Role Summary

Associate Director, Data Management at Neurocrine Biosciences. Participates in establishing and implementing the company's commercial data strategy, governance, systems, and operational data management. Delivers data management capabilities across internal functional areas including Field Operations, Commercial Insights & Analytics, Market Access, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Compliance, and Medical Affairs. Oversees data acquisition and contracting, data governance, data aggregation, QC, master data management, and data warehousing. Partners with stakeholders to balance immediate data needs with scalable future capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of a sub-function within the Data Management team, including supervision of Analysts and Managers, to onboard and deliver accurate data to users
  • Works on contracts with external data suppliers, ensuring quality and appropriate use; periodically reviews data assets for value realization
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all data assets
  • Leads areas such as:
    • Data aggregation and delivery of related dashboards
    • Commercial data warehousing and data feeds to downstream parties and BI platforms
    • Master data management for HCPs, HCOs, Payers, etc., and related activities
    • Internally developed data management platforms to support various use cases
    • Data QC standards and processes; testing when changes occur or new data is onboarded
    • Internal data governance and communication of data-related issues to stakeholders
    • Consultative advisory to internal data consumers and evaluation of new data sources
    • Ensures deliverables are accurate, complete, timely, compliant, and aligned with business goals; resolves data issues and communicates status
    • Identifies opportunities to enhance data management systems and processes
    • Leads staff development and evaluation to ensure efficient operation
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in business, science, or quantitative disciplines with 10+ years of experience in data management and/or field operations support; CNS experience preferred
  • Master's degree or MBA with 8+ years of relevant experience is acceptable
  • Previous managerial or functional management experience required
  • Broad understanding of processes, procedures, and systems relevant to the role
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen; proficient with computer/systems
  • Excellent communication, project management, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and consult with data consumers
  • Technical expertise in data acquisition, master data management, and data warehousing within a strategic organization
  • Experience with data management tools and IT capabilities; familiarity with tools such as Veeva, Tableau, Qlik; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of supporting both launch and mature brands
