Role Summary

Associate Director, Customer Insights, Immunology (Nasal Polyps and Eosinophilic Esophagitis) will lead market research and insights strategies to inform Immunology brand decisions. The role partners with Immunology CBU and CSI&A to oversee all Customer Insights activities, translating insights gaps into business questions and guiding research approaches to support commercial strategy and brand planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead market research plans and individual projects that inform business decisions for Immunology (Nasal Polyps and Eosinophilic Esophagitis), including U.S./global and HCP/patient initiatives
  • Develop innovative Customer Insights plans that align with strategic imperatives for Immunology (Nasal Polyps and Eosinophilic Esophagitis), translating insights gaps into key business questions and informing the optimal research approach
  • Proactively recommend studies that inform critical brand decision-points and address brand opportunities and challenges
  • Partnership and collaboration: Develop and maintain a mutually beneficial partnership with stakeholders across Immunology (Nasal Polyps and Eosinophilic Esophagitis) CBU and CSI&A; balance project rigor, timelines and influence decisions
  • Manage market research suppliers to design, scope, execute and analyze research results and develop business implications
  • Collaborate with the Immunology CBU and CSI&A colleagues to influence data capabilities and stay informed on the market landscape and competitive outlook
  • Work closely with Advanced Analytics partners to effectively measure brand performance via secondary data sources; address related questions from senior leadership
  • Execute: Demonstrate proficiency and drive continuous improvement in primary research designs and analysis (qualitative and quantitative); develop customized innovative research solutions to address complex strategic business issues
  • Manage all primary research in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices, with agreed upon preferred vendors
  • Recommend reasonable, evidence driven business-building ideas, while encouraging the use of customer and market insights to inform strategic business decisions
  • Establish, manage and share outcomes from plans that measure and track performance against critical success factors
  • Synthesize insights and analyses from a variety of sources to inform strategic choices and decisions; develop and present findings to business teams and senior management
  • Consolidate and integrate data into actionable insights that identify business opportunities/strategies, considering portfolio implications
  • Create compelling presentations that communicate complex insights in an easily understood and actioned manner
  • Recommend reasonable, evidence driven business-building ideas, while encouraging the use of customer and market insights to inform strategic business decisions

Qualifications

  • Minimum BA/BS with 10 years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience (or MBA/MS with 7+ years), in roles of increasing accountability; prior experience with market-leading brands required and immunology-specific experience is desired
  • Demonstrated success in using market research to inform and influence important business decisions
  • Experience in survey design, data analysis (including secondary data), managing suppliers, presenting results, and recommending courses of action supported by research findings
  • Experience in biologic drugs and in immunology (required)
  • Experience in cross-functional communication and consensus building
  • Strong technical understanding of marketing research methodologies and deep knowledge across multiple complex research tools
  • Strong understanding of data sources and nomenclatures in the product development environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to commercialization in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Flexibility, leadership, influence and emotional intelligence in working across stakeholders
  • Extensive experience managing numerous projects concurrently against stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability
  • Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing and driving decision making
  • Expertise in data visualization and data storytelling of market research findings
  • Prior experience working in an Alliance partnerships preferred
