Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Corporate Communications will shape and execute Discβs corporate communications across internal and external audiences and channels. Lead corporate storytelling and manage key communications platforms including press releases, corporate presentations, the company website, and social media. Support product launch and commercialization communications, coordinating launch messaging and aligning corporate and product narratives.
Key Responsibilities:
- External Corporate Communications & Public Relations (~45%): Draft and develop press releases, corporate presentations, and Q&A documents; support launch/commercialization communications with Commercial, Medical, and Legal to ensure compliance; maintain an external communications calendar and ensure cross-functional accuracy; monitor news coverage and provide summaries to leadership; manage and strengthen media relationships; create media background materials (fact sheets, company overviews, Q&A).
- Corporate Brand Support (~25%): Develop and implement social media strategy and manage corporate channels; support web/digital/video content with vendors and stakeholders; own and maintain the corporate website; own and maintain brand assets, templates, and style guides.
- Internal Communications & Employee Engagement (~15%): Develop internal communications supporting culture and priorities; support All Hands and recruitment/culture-focused social content; partner with HR and leadership for consistent internal messaging.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management (~15%): Build stakeholder relationships; act as a strategic partner to Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal; manage multiple projects with timelines/approvals/deliverables; support patient advocacy, disease awareness, and milestone announcements.
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 7β10 years in corporate communications and/or investor relations within commercial-stage biotech/pharma.
- Experience supporting strategic decision-making with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to lead communications strategy/execution across multiple channels.
- Proven ability to build media and external stakeholder relationships.
- Experience managing social media channels and corporate websites.
- Ability to create and deliver effective presentations.
- Hands-on approach combining strategy and day-to-day execution; thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills; can lead meetings with mid/senior management.
- Employee communications/change management experience strongly preferred.
