Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the roadmap for commercial data & engineering capabilities; partner with Commercial Technology and business stakeholders.
- Lead commercial engineering delivery; own interface with IT leadership for Commercial.
- Build scalable data products for Commercial Operations, Marketing, Patient Services, Market Access, and Insights & Analytics.
- Own/evolve the Commercial data foundation and βdata spineβ connecting execution systems, digital platforms, analytics tools, and enterprise data.
- Drive simplification by reducing point-to-point integrations and enabling reusable data products/services.
- Scale data governance (ownership, quality, cataloging, lineage, stewardship, regulatory compliance).
- Partner with Platform Engineering/Enterprise Architecture/Data & AI to align to enterprise standards and reference architectures.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory/privacy requirements (e.g., GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, GDPR/CCPA, MLR).
- Lead commercial platform/integration initiatives (CRM, Patient Services, omnichannel engagement, consent & preference management).
- Lead delivery via Agile teams; prioritize, manage backlogs, coordinate cross-team execution; manage 6β12 engineers.
Qualifications
Required
- BS in CS/Data/Software or related; MS preferred.
- 10+ years data/software/platform engineering; 5+ years leading technical teams.
- 4+ years building data pipelines/integrations for commercial functions; pharma/life sciences strongly preferred.
- Agile leadership experience (backlog, sprints, dependencies across pods).
- Modern data stack: Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, cloud orchestration (Astronomer/Airflow) or similar.
- CRM/Patient Services + CDP/activation experience (Salesforce Health/Life Sciences Cloud, Veeva; Salesforce Data Cloud preferred; Adobe AEP acceptable).
- Experience integrating Veeva ecosystem into cloud data (e.g., Snowflake) via Fivetran/CDC.
- Integrate commercial data sources (IQVIA/Symphony, specialty pharmacy/hub feeds, claims, HCP/HCO master data).
- Strong engineering fundamentals: Python, SQL, REST/GraphQL, CI/CD, IaC.
- Trusted partner with business stakeholders; regulatory/privacy knowledge.
- Infrequent travel.
Preferred
- Omnichannel/next-best-action in regulated pharma; identity resolution/privacy-by-design.
- Veeva ecosystem depth; Snowflake Cortex/Streamlit or governed LLM/AI.
- Real-time personalization, A/B testing, journey orchestration; attribution/MMM analytics.
- AWS certification; rare disease/specialty pharma/biotech experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- U.S. base pay range: $174,800β$236,600; eligible for annual short-term incentive and long-term incentive.
