Commercial Tech Lead, Data Management – Data Enablement & Platforms
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Data Management Product Owner to design solutions for business problems; provide technical insight on feasibility, effort, and tradeoffs.
- Translate product roadmaps into scalable, compliant technology architectures and delivery plans (assess feasibility, constraints, dependencies, risks).
- Convert complex business requirements into technical specifications and executable work.
- Lead technical delivery: build/integrate Commercial Data Products (360-degree HCP/HCO/payer/patient views), Semantic Data Layers, Business Rules Layers (BRLs), and Data Integration & Transformation Pipelines.
- Lead Agile ceremonies; take end-to-end ownership of complex technical challenges.
- Guide teams to deliver scalable, compliant data products with strong data governance (quality controls, validation rules, monitoring).
- Support integration with downstream systems (analytics platforms, orchestration engines, reporting tools).
- Coordinate licenses/user access workflows and KPI tracking with Suite members.
Required/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s in CS/engineering/IS or related field.
- 8+ years post-Bachelor’s (or 6+ years post-Master’s) in data engineering/architecture/management/enterprise platforms; exposure to data science/advanced analytics.
- 4+ years as a Tech Lead (hands-on technical leadership of data engineering/platform teams).
- Enterprise-scale experience delivering data platforms, semantic layers, and integration solutions using modern cloud/distributed data and orchestration/reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements; Agile product development experience.
- Knowledge of system integration patterns, APIs, and data architecture design across commercial data products/semantic layers/BRLs.
- Experience in matrixed organizations; mentor developers and vendor partners.
Preferred
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience.
- Experience with enterprise platform/global capability teams; rare disease/specialty brands.
Working Requirements
- 10–20% travel.
