Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted finance business partner to Clinical R&D (including Medical Affairs); understand drivers of business performance and financial impact on clinical trials.
- Develop business insights and KPIs per clinical trial; recommend monthly/quarterly accruals to Accounting; support monthly financial analysis and financial close.
- Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range planning for Clinical R&D and Program leads.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly variance analyses for actual vs. forecasted results.
- Maintain quarterly function/program reporting, analytical reviews, trend analysis, and dashboards for Executive Team/Board.
- Deliver monthly financial reporting packages to Clinical and program leadership; build financial tracking for budget owners.
- Review clinical study terms/conditions (vendor agreements, contracts, purchase requisitions); partner with Accounting on expense recognition per US GAAP and company policy.
- Identify and periodically review financial risks/opportunities; partner with Accounting on close processes and internal controls.
- Execute ad hoc strategic finance projects; drive Finance process/communication improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- MBA, CPA certification and/or consulting experience (highly preferred).
- 8+ years FP&A experience in biotech life sciences (public companies preferred); success in small/mid-size biotech environments.
- Proven clinical trial financial modeling expertise (best practices for budgeting/forecasting/resource allocation).
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Planful/Adaptive and NetSuite (ERP).
- US GAAP knowledge; excellent communication/interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation/Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid role based in Watertown, MA; onsite attendance required.
- Salary range: $175,000β$215,000 USD.
