Purpose:
- Partner with VP-level business and IT stakeholders to develop global procurement strategies for the technology category, contributing to cross-functional strategy through analysis, market expertise, and understanding of broader business objectives. Build an annual strategic plan to achieve performance targets aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop global procurement strategies for the technology category (software and technology services).
- Build an annual category strategic plan aligned to overall business goals.
- Inform strategic decision-making using market intelligence and staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.
- Define and develop strategic value drivers with key suppliers to secure collaborative partnerships that drive cost savings, optimize processes, and enhance procurement value.
- Integrate sustainability and ESG measures into category strategies with suppliers to improve sustainable/responsible sourcing.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategies, driving innovation and creative solutions for long-term business needs.
- Develop and activate mitigation strategies to manage procurement risk and ensure compliance.
- Identify process optimization and efficiency opportunities using enterprise Source to Pay and data analytics platforms for continuous improvement.
- Lead end-to-end procurement (sourcing strategy through contract negotiation and execution), including supplier negotiations with strong analytical insight.
- Coach Managers: set performance targets, provide coaching, evaluate performance, and support workforce/capability planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Masterโs preferred.
- 10+ years in procurement, supply chain, or related business/operations; technology subcategory experience (software, IT services, telecom, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Experience leading category teams, partnering with major suppliers, and reporting to senior leaders.
- Strong ability to develop high-impact executive-level deliverables.
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with enterprise Source to Pay applications preferred.
- Expertise in category management (market analysis, cost/financial assessment), negotiation and bidding, and managing complex projects/change management.
- Strong internal stakeholder management and influence.
- Strategic thinking, accountability, and ownership of procurement outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; resilience under pressure; strong communication and relationship-building in a matrixed organization.
