Associate Director, Category Management of Primary Packaging Injectables

Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement processes; develop global procurement strategies; monitor contracts; execute process improvements for the Primary Packaging Injectables category.
- Build an annual strategic plan for the category aligned with overall business goals.
- Lead a cross-functional team (primarily within AbbVie manufacturing sites) to support strategic decision-making using market intelligence and staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics.
- Define and develop strategic value drivers with key category suppliers to secure collaborative partnerships, drive cost savings, optimize processes, and enhance procurement value.
- Integrate sustainability/ESG measures into category strategies and collaborate with suppliers on sustainable sourcing.
- Lead Supplier Management & Innovation (SMI) strategies to drive long-term innovation and creative solutions.
- Develop and activate mitigation strategies to identify and manage procurement risk while ensuring compliance.
- Own project management from initiation to completion; use data analytics to identify process optimization opportunities and implement continuous improvement programs.
- Prepare for and lead negotiations with key suppliers using analytical insight and a strategic, long-term perspective.

Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Mgmt, or related field (Masterโ€™s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations/business functions.
- Experience leading category teams, partnering with major suppliers, and reporting to senior leaders.
- Strong ability to develop executive-level deliverables.
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge strongly preferred.
- Strong category management expertise (market analysis, cost/financial assessment), negotiation/bidding, and change-management-focused complex project oversight.
- Strong internal stakeholder management and influence.
- Strategic thinking, accountability, and innovative problem-solving with executive presence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; conflict resolution; resilience under pressure.
