Purpose
Business Human Resources (BHR) serves as a trusted partner to the business, shaping culture, supporting business strategies, and delivering talent and capabilities. The role uses best-in-class HR practices to establish AbbVie as an employer of choice and partners with business leaders to develop and implement people strategies aligned to short- and long-term business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary strategic partner; assist/lead creation and implementation of HR strategies.
- Coach, consult, and influence business leaders (including senior leadership) on leadership development, succession planning, and talent management.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent; lead talent development and succession planning.
- Ensure effective delivery of HR programs and services; own HR results (client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, financial results).
- Build relationships with HR partners across Centers of Excellence and Service Centers to coordinate HR delivery.
- Consult on and lead organization design and effectiveness/structure issues.
- Drive people manager development; partner to shape a culture of high engagement, performance, and diversity & inclusion.
- Facilitate and model change; develop and deliver communication strategies aligned to priorities.
- Champion AbbVie Ways We Work by modeling, educating, and coaching.
- Prioritize critical projects; identify trends and new process approaches.
- Develop recommendations to resolve strategically important HR issues.
- Lead large-scale, multi-year strategic projects/initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree.
- 8+ years of relevant HR experience.
- Knowledge of regulations/standards affecting the business; strong business acumen.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in a complex environment.
- Project management or business experience.
- Experience in organizational development, design, and effectiveness.
- Experience supporting a global business and partnering with internationally-based leaders/HR.
- Strategic thinking; leading multiple initiatives and prioritizing.
- Broad understanding of functional/CoE HR roles and impact on the business.
- Experience presenting to senior management and engaging employees at all levels.
