Role Summary

The Associate Director, Brand Field Trainer is responsible for creating, maintaining and implementing a field-based training continuum for all current and future Acadia Neuropsychiatry products and indications. This role collaborates with the Business Effectiveness Team, marketing, and field leadership to assess organizational needs, support marketing tactics, and elevate disease state and product expertise within the Customer Engagement Model. Training programs span onboarding to ongoing learning for the commercial field, including developing training plans, communications, and online learning content supporting the sales team. The role also leads the development of training workshops for National and Regional Sales Meetings and requires cross-functional project management and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains brand training curriculum from onboarding, new hire training, advanced training, and ongoing learning to meet current and emerging needs of field commercial employees.
  • Facilitate virtual/live training for new hires, manager train-the-trainers, and support NSM/POA live training or field certifications.
  • Develop, update and implement training modules, content and programs appropriate for field commercial employees.
  • Create training materials (study guides, home study materials, assessments, FAQs, competitive overviews) and coordinate with leadership and HR on follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop training and communications to support brand strategy.
  • Manage contracts and expenses with external consultants and vendors within budget guidelines.
  • Lead content development and maintain Learning Management System with modules and live workshop content for new hires.
  • Oversee approval of training materials through MLR processes and attend MLR meetings.
  • Work with corporate compliance to ensure market access employees are trained on applicable policies and procedures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align insights and facilitate one Acadia model.
  • Conduct quarterly field rides to observe field tactics and identify opportunities to refine selling skills and brand initiative execution.
  • Provide training insights to brand planning, tactical planning, and quarterly business reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (science or business preferred) or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Sales and Learning & Development, with at least 2 years in a training role.
  • Focus on Neurology, Psychiatry, Long-Term Care, and Primary Care strongly preferred.
  • Prior pharmaceutical sales experience and first-line pharmaceutical/biotech sales management experience; vendor and contract management experience.
  • Experience with product launches and developing New Hire Training plans is highly desired.

Skills

  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create effective learning & development materials and apply adult learning principles.
  • Experience facilitating training for small and large audiences in virtual or live settings.
  • Experience submitting and managing content for MLR approval.
  • Experience managing contracts and expenses with external vendors within budgetary guidelines.
  • Experience launching a product (Sales, Managed Markets and/or Learning & Development) is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management, organization, initiative, and accountability.
  • Integrity and ability to work in a highly regulated environment with confidential information.
  • Ability to negotiate with business partners and influence senior leaders; ability to create and communicate a clear vision to align resources and activities.
  • Travel ability up to 30% overnight.

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (science or business preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands; may involve reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to travel overnight as required.
  • Travel: ability to travel up to 30% overnight.
