The Brand Excellence, Associate Director β On-Market is an enterprise role responsible for driving on-market strategy and tactical excellence across the US Area. Serves as a critical connector for Integrated Brand Teams (IBTs), scaling best practices, elevating strategic planning rigor, and advancing commercial and MHI collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Process Excellence
- Champion the 1-7-5 planning methodology across all on-market IBTs (7 anchors, Patient Journey, and AI integration).
- Lead omnichannel and AI adoption and capability-building within the 1-7-5 process; develop resources and best-practice guidance.
- Identify and implement annual improvements to planning processes to increase agility and reduce administrative burden.
- Continuously scan the external environment to develop annual perspectives on market events, competitive dynamics, and healthcare shifts.
- Create AI agents and pull best practices into the 1-7-5 process as brand planning assistants.
IBT Enablement & Organizational Capability
- Educate US Area Brand Planning Champions annually on cycle readiness, deliverables, and enterprise guidance.
- Onboard and develop new IBT members with process expectations, deliverables, and best practices.
- Ensure seamless transitions from Launch phase; share and scale best practices across IBTs.
Operational Effectiveness & Innovation
- Analyze operational gaps and develop tools/frameworks/initiatives to improve IBT agility and efficiency.
- Launch enterprise-wide initiatives to help compete compliantly and effectively.
- Lead and/or participate in cross-functional working groups to maximize commercial and MHI collaboration.
Connectivity & Governance
- Partner with International Brand Excellence; represent the US Area on decision-making governance bodies.
- Serve as the single point of contact between on-market IBTs and the Project Manager Team.
- Maintain SharePoint and communication channels for current processes and resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- Prior AbbVie brand planning experience required.
- Deep expertise in the 1-7-5 planning process.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and organizational capability in complex, matrixed environments.
- Strong analytical skills synthesizing trends, competitive intelligence, and external data into actionable insights.
- Proven track record inspiring change and influencing outcomes without direct management authority.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across markets and product lifecycle stages.
- Strong project and matrix management skills; delivers results in cross-functional teams.
