Role Overview
The Associate Director, Benefits & Mobility is responsible for the design, governance, and hands-on delivery of employee benefits and mobility programs, with primary accountability for U.S. benefits and global visibility/oversight across all countries of operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the U.S.-based Benefits & Mobility COE, including health & welfare, retirement, wellness, leave, and mobility program design, administration, and management.
- Lead benefit communication and improve employee experience.
- Participate in day-to-day benefits operations (enrollments, plan changes, audits, issue resolution, escalations).
- Serve as an escalation point for complex, sensitive, or high-impact benefits/mobility matters.
- Maintain global visibility for countries including China, Belgium, and Ireland via local HR Operations partnerships.
- Ensure local offerings align with Global Benefits Principles and Total Rewards philosophy while respecting local regulations.
- Partner with local HR teams to assess competitiveness, identify gaps/opportunities, and recommend supplemental benefits where appropriate.
- Drive benefit design and investment decisions; evaluate effectiveness using utilization data, benchmarks, and feedback.
- Own Benefits COE SME responsibility for Workday Benefits.
- Partner with HRIS/HR Operations for setup, process efficiency, compliance, and scalability; lead system enhancements, automation, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, tax-qualified plans); maintain governance and audit readiness.
- Own vendor strategy (benefits/wellbeing/leave/retirement/mobility): lead RFPs, renewals, negotiations, and service performance management.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis (including global cost visibility).
- Lead, coach, and develop the benefits team; advise HRBPs and business leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree or certifications (CEBS, CCP, GMS, SHRM) preferred.
- 9β12 years progressive experience in U.S. benefits and global mobility.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations and global mobility practices (immigration and tax considerations).
- Hands-on experience administering and delivering benefits programs.
- Strong financial, vendor management, and governance capabilities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and project leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high autonomy.
