Associate Director, Accounting

Role: Associate Director, Accounting at a biotech company, overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls to support growth and compliance. Responsibilities: lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; manage key accounting areas including R&D accruals, leases, and intercompany transactions; drive process improvements and enhance scalability of systems and controls; develop and mentor the accounting team; collaborate with cross-functional partners on accounting implications of business activities; support SOX compliance and external audits; assist with strategic initiatives and internal financial reporting. Requirements: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including public company experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, or life sciences; strong U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal control knowledge; prior management and balance sheet experience; proficiency in Excel and financial systems. Preferred: Big 4 experience, knowledge of equity compensation accounting, and technical research skills.
