Key Responsibilities
- Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access within aligned therapeutic area product(s); proactively provide face-to-face education on access/reimbursement programs to providers and staff.
- Work with therapeutic area office stakeholders (executives, providers, administrators, billing/coding, claims, revenue cycle) to support patient access.
- Analyze problems and resolve patient reimbursement issues with third-party payers at the provider level; act as reimbursement expert as needed.
- Support pull-through on local coverage decisions; proactively communicate policy changes/issues impacting other departments.
- Maintain expertise in regional/local access landscape and anticipate healthcare changes.
- Interface with Patient Support Center (hub) and Access & Reimbursement Managers on patient case management (tracking cases, issue resolution, reimbursement support, staff education).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with NPC associates to share customer needs/barriers for aligned product(s).
- Educate HCPs on acquisition pathways using approved materials; including buy-and-bill end-to-end workflows and facility pull-through (centralized/decentralized acquisition; white/clear/brown bagging; alternate site of care).
- Assess assigned geography and develop/communicate a Plan of Action (POA).
- Educate stakeholders on ordering, payment, inventory, and product returns/replacements.
- Engage non-prescribers (pharmacy, leadership, financial counselors, administrators, revenue cycle, etc.).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; business/biological science preferred; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in pharma/biotech (Patient Services/Market Access/Sales/account management); 2+ years in a Patient Services practice support role for specialty products.
- Experience with highly complex practices/health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
- Strategic, proactive account management experience.
- Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
- Specialty pharmacy network acquisition experience.
- Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
- Reside within territory or within 60 miles of territory border; ability to travel 60β80%; must have a valid driverβs license.
