Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access to aligned therapeutic area product(s) through in-person (or virtual as needed) education for providers and staff.
- Work with therapeutic area office members (executives, providers, administrators, billing/coding, claims, revenue cycle managers) to support patient access.
- Analyze reimbursement problems and provide provider-level support for third-party payer issues; act as reimbursement expert as needed.
- Support pull-through on local coverage decisions; proactively communicate policy changes/issues affecting access.
- Maintain expertise in regional/local access landscape; anticipate healthcare changes.
- Interface with Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers to support patient case management (tracking, issue resolution, reimbursement support, staff education).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to share insights on customer needs/barriers.
- Educate HCPs using approved materials on acquisition pathways, including buy-and-bill workflows and facility pull-through, and alternate channels (e.g., white/clear/brown bagging, alternate site of care).
Buy and Bill Specific:
- Assess access situation in assigned geography and develop/communicate a Plan of Action (POA).
- Educate stakeholders on logistics: ordering, payment, inventory, returns, and replacement.
- Engage non-prescribers (pharmacy, system leadership, financial counselors, administrators, revenue cycle managers, etc.).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelorβs degree required; business/biological sciences preferred; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in pharmaceuticals/biotech in Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, and/or account management; 2 years in a specialty product patient services practice support role.
- Experience with highly complex practices/health systems for access & acquisition pathways.
- Strategic account management with proactive anticipation of access hurdles.
- Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.
- Experience with specialty pharmacy network acquisition; knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).
- Reside within territory or within 60 miles of territory border; travel 60β80% and drive/fly within territory; valid driverβs license required.
