Role Summary

Associate Creative Director, Art is responsible for the art and graphic output for the brands under their supervision. They assign work to design staff, review quality and progress from concept through production, and manage the art group’s workload to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. They lead the creative development, stay current with industry trends, and collaborate across brand teams to shape strategy and positioning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee art/graphic output for the assigned group of brands; assign brands to art directors and review performance from concept through production.
  • Manage the art group’s workload to maximize efficiency and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery.
  • Inspire and elevate the creative ability of art personnel; stay up-to-date on developments in communications as they apply to the art/creative department.
  • Guide the professional and creative development of art directors through evaluation and collaboration with ACD/Art counterparts.
  • Remain current with brands and competition; effectively present creative work internally and externally.
  • Contribute to shaping brand positioning and strategy with brand team members.
  • Be a key member of the agency new business team as required.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college education, with a focus on Art and Design, preferably in the communication arts
  • Combined four to six years of creative/supervisory art experience, preferably in healthcare communications
  • Creative experience within the classic full-service healthcare agency environment
  • Combination of supervisory management skills and creative awareness and sensibility
  • Ability to manage highly charged group dynamics and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Persuasiveness and advanced presentation skills

Education

  • 4-year college education, with a focus on Art and Design, preferably in the communication arts
