Job Description
Working in the Border Security operations space, the Associate Border Security Analyst performs day-to-day operations on Firewalls, IPS and IDS platforms and Zscaler.

Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support of global network security infrastructure, including Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, ZCC, Tufin and VPN technologies.
- Implement firewall and network security policy changes per change-management, security, and operational procedures.
- Create, modify, troubleshoot, and remove firewall security policies, NAT policies, objects, services, and related configurations.
- Troubleshoot complex firewall, VPN, Zscaler, and network connectivity issues using firewall logs, traffic analysis, packet captures, and Tufin.
- Support escalated network security incidents/problems; identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor infrastructure and proactively identify configuration, performance, connectivity, and security issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, application, cloud, and security teams on cross-functional issues.
- Participate in upgrades, migrations, maintenance, and technology implementations.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records.
- Participate in after-hours, weekend, and emergency support as required.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelorโ€™s degree + 2 years related experience; or Masterโ€™s degree with 0 years.
- Experience in network engineering, network security, or firewall operations.
- Hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall experience (policy creation/modification/troubleshooting/maintenance) and Palo Alto Panorama.
- Hands-on Zscaler experience (preferably ZIA, ZPA, ZCC).
- Strong TCP/IP, routing, NAT, DNS, VPN, and network security concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot firewall policies, connectivity, VPN, and firewall infrastructure issues.
- Experience with ITIL/change-management and enterprise change-control.
- Strong log/traffic/data analysis to identify root causes.
- Strong verbal/written communication; work independently; prioritize issues; extended-hours/weekend support.

Preferred:
- 5+ years related experience.
- Palo Alto certification (PCNSA/PCNSE/PCSAE); CCNA/CCNP; CISSP.
- Experience supporting large global enterprise environments.
- Firewall automation, APIs, Python, or scripting.
