Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and technical support for process controls and manufacturing execution systems in a biopharmaceutical operations facility for assigned shift support hours.
- Provide technical support of site automation systems and network infrastructure during night shift support hours (critical systems: Emerson DeltaV DCS and Emerson Syncade MES).
- Support automation workstreams across the system development life cycle: gather system/end user requirements; design, implement, and test/validate changes; maintain documentation; maintain and monitor systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with process controls and manufacturing execution systems; recommend and develop/execute solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement and support capital projects.
- Adhere to and continuously improve operation and maintenance procedures for process controls and manufacturing execution systems.
- Maintain the operational technology environment through work order execution and administration of systems, networks, databases, and accounts (servers, hosts, analytical equipment).
- Model safety/EHS, quality compliance, data integrity, and engineering standards.
- Generate and maintain automation design and functional specification documents with good GxP documentation.
- Communicate with operational groups; relay technical issues and opportunities to the automation team.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA in engineering, life sciences, biology.
- 2+ years of experience working in or understanding of a GMP environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design/programming/troubleshooting of Emerson Syncade, DeltaV, or similar MES/DCS systems.
- Knowledge of current control system standards and computer system validation.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate problems/escalations to stakeholders.
- Strong prioritization, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
