Architecture & Platform Strategy
- Define/evolve target-state architecture for self-serve data, AI, and agentic AI platforms aligned to enterprise strategy, data mesh, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish standards/reference architectures for data products, semantic layer services, AI/LLM gateways, agent orchestration, and API/MCP-based data access.
- Architect layers enabling AI/agents to find, trust, ask, and act on enterprise data (data product interfaces, semantic context services, governed write/action patterns).
- Define tiered certification/governance to scale trust from registered assets to autonomous-grade AI-ready products.
- Establish RAG/semantic layer/MCP tool-surface patterns for retrieval, context enrichment, grounding, and tool exposure.

Engineering & Infrastructure
- Lead AWS + Databricks platform infrastructure engineering (AWS: S3, Lake Formation, Glue, EKS, Bedrock, IAM, networking; Databricks: Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, DLT, SQL, MLflow, Mosaic AI).
- Build agentic AI platform stack (runtimes, orchestration, identity/access, action/write contracts, evaluation harnesses, observability).
- Use Terraform, CI/CD, automated testing, environment promotion, and GxP/Part 11 change management.
- Drive SRE/Well-Architected reliability, FinOps cost management, observability, and incident response; ensure security and governed access (fine-grained entitlements, row/column controls, audit lineage).

Delivery Leadership & Product Management
- Shape roadmap/outcomes; prioritize backlog and sequence delivery for enterprise AI adoption.
- Lead vendor-partner delivery; set quality/velocity/operability standards.
- Run build/buy/adopt decisions (evaluation, kill criteria, total-cost) and integrate capabilities.
- Track platform health/adoption metrics (DORA, reliability SLOs, self-serve adoption, time-to-data-product) and report to leadership.
- Mentor, run architecture reviews, advise domains on high-value use cases; communicate trade-offs clearly.

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years platform/data/enterprise data/AI architecture; 3+ years leading teams or major programs.
- Hands-on AWS data/AI (S3, Lake Formation, Glue, EKS, Bedrock, Kinesis/MSK, IAM, Terraform).
- Strong Databricks production experience (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, DLT, SQL, MLflow).
- Experience building agentic AI/LLM systems (orchestration, RAG, gateways, tool/function calling, MCP, evaluation/observability).
- Resilient batch/streaming pipelines; SQL + Python (or Scala/Java).
- Distributed systems/event-driven/workflow orchestration; API-first integrations.
- Secure governed cloud architecture experience (fine-grained access, lineage, auditability).
- Proven delivery leadership and senior stakeholder communication.

Preferred Qualifications
- Regulated domains (biopharma/life sciences): GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, CSV.
- Data mesh/federated architectures; data product operating models.
- Semantic layer/knowledge graphs/metadata catalogs/data contracts.
- FinOps (chargeback/showback, token economics); vendor ecosystems and structured evaluations.
- Product management experience; DORA/SPACΠ•/Platform-as-a-Product familiarity.
- AWS Professional and/or Databricks certifications.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $168,980.00–$218,680.00. Possible discretionary annual bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and company-sponsored medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
