Role Summary
The Associate Director of Market Insights and Forecasting is a pivotal role responsible for leading and executing market research initiatives and forecasting activities within the oncology sector of the pharmaceutical industry. This position requires a professional with solid experience in both market insights and forecasting, capable of delivering strategic and actionable insights that support decision-making across marketing, sales, market access, and other commercial functions. The ideal candidate will have a background in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a strong emphasis on oncology. This role is primarily in-office, with some flexibility for remote work and limited domestic travel
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage primary and secondary market research projects to inform and guide strategic business decisions in the oncology space.
- Oversee the generation of market insights that support launch planning, strategy, and tactical development for oncology indications.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize market information from diverse sources to provide insights on market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and product performance.
- Collaborate with global teams to develop launch strategies and execute supporting insights projects.
- Establish / manage tracking studies, KPIs, and routine performance tracking for oncology products.
- Develop, maintain, & update product forecasts for both in-line and pipeline oncology products, incorporating advanced forecasting models/methodologies.
- Align forecasts with business objectives by collaborating with finance, commercial, and supply chain teams.
- Present forecasting insights to senior leadership, providing clear explanations of assumptions, methodologies, and results.
- Incorporate market insights into forecasting assumptions and track key metrics through established studies.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Life Sciences). 7–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech market research, analytics, and forecasting.
- Required: Proven track record of managing and executing both qualitative and quantitative market research projects in oncology.
- Required: Advanced forecasting techniques, statistical modeling, and scenario planning skills.
- Required: Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
- Required: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Required: Proficiency in forecasting software and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SAS, Power BI).
- Required: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create compelling data visualizations.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and programming (e.g., SQL, SAS).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Life Sciences).
- Master’s degree (MBA, MS) is preferred.
