Responsibilities:
- Own the AWS and Linux platforms supporting enterprise, R&D, and scientific workloads.
- Build and maintain multi-year platform roadmaps with Architecture and Cloud Leaders.
- Drive modern engineering practices: automation, IaC, hardened baselines, monitoring, and auditability.
- Steer platform evolution to support hybrid-cloud growth and future scale.
- Lead and govern MSPs delivering cloud and Linux services; ensure SLAs, quality, and compliance.
- Ensure operations meet expectations for reliability, performance, and audits.
- Maintain accountability between internal teams and external partners.
- Lead during major incidents and drive fast, transparent resolution.
- Oversee Linux configuration management, patching, image standards, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support Linux-based R&D workloads (HPC, analytics, data processing).
- Ensure AWS security patterns: IAM governance, encryption, segmentation, logging, monitoring, and posture management.
- Ensure cloud/compute services align with GxP expectations and GAMP5 qualification; maintain audit readiness.
- Partner with Security, Quality, and Architecture to meet regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Partner on standards and future-state designs with Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Architects; integrate across compute domains.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience).
- 10+ years in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform operations.
- Strong hands-on AWS platform design/operation (identity, networking, compute, storage, automation frameworks).
- Deep Linux engineering background (RHEL, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu).
- Proven ability to lead/govern managed service providers in hybrid cloud.
- Solid understanding of GxP and experience in regulated/audit-ready environments.
- Experience supporting scientific computing/analytics or data-intensive R&D workloads.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code/automation skills (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent communicator who can influence partners and technical teams.

Preferred:
- Pharma/biotech/regul. manufacturing experience.
- Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).
- Enterprise storage, backup, and data protection tools.
- Certifications: AWS SA/SysOps, RHCSA/RHCE, CISSP, ITIL, PMP.
- People management experience.

Travel & Location:
- Travel up to 25%.
- Primary: Waltham, MA. Secondary: Ireland; Wilmington, OH.
- Hybrid; on-site three days/week.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Annual base salary: $178,000–$195,000; eligible for annual performance pay bonus. Competitive benefits package.
